Pneumatic Forklifts

Extensively used in delivery facilities, the pneumatic lift truck or pallet truck, may be used to carry resources that are positioned on top of pallets. A pneumatic lift truck usually has a pair of steel forks installed on a wheeled counterweight that also has a pump. The pump is used to lift and lower the forks.

Visually check the pallet truck before loading. Make sure the wheels are free of any impending obstacles. Additionally, make sure the handle moves effortlessly and turns properly. Inspect the pallet prior to moving it to determine if it is stacked in a way that minimizes the possibility of anything falling off during lifting. Discharge any air in the pump and let down the forks to the floor by squeezing the lever installed on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the handle. Slide the forks into the slots in the pallet and ensure the blades are centered so that the pallets’ mass is evenly spread.

Pump the pneumatic lift handle up and down to raise the blades from the floor. Stop pumping once the pallet is entirely off the floor as there is no need to raise it any higher or risk losing balance while turning. In order to progress the pallet, drag the handle behind you; do not push it. There will be a large amount of momentum existing. Avoid quick or sharp turns and you should not stop too suddenly. Gently bring the pallet to a stop where you would like to park it. Squeeze the handle inside the handle end to return the forks to the floor. Withdraw the blades from the pallet and return the pallet truck to its specified parking spot.
