Scissor Lift Operator Certification Port Coquitlam - North American regulators recommend that worksites need operators of scissor lifts, booms or aerial work platforms to get certification training. Scissor lift operator certification is not mandatory, but there are advantages to ensuring that this training is provided to all of the operators.
Scissor lift refers to a platform which moves vertically in order to allow employees to reach high levels. Scissor lifts are designed with a pantograph - linked, folding supports in an 'X' pattern. Upward movement occurs when pressure is applied to the outside of the lowest set of supports, propelling the work platform vertically by lengthening the 'X' pattern. A bridge extends from particular platforms to allow convenient access to the work area.
The platform descends to the ground by manually releasing a valve. The platform descends through simply releasing the pneumatic or hydraulic pressure. This is the key reason that scissor lifts are the best equipment at worksites.
Both experienced and new operators could benefit from correct scissor lift training. This course could be tailored to focus specifically on the specific machine models at your worksite. The trainees' certificate of training would list the models of machines on which they trained.
Included in the classroom instruction are the following topics: rules and guidelines, authorization and attitude; introduction to scissor lift training; Occupational Health safety; safety regulations and common hazards; workbook and record of training (ROT)
The in-class session will end with a written test.
Practical hands-on training includes instruction on the following: pre-operational check; safety equipment;; regular maintenance; function checklist; operator's manual and the practical session would conclude with a proficiency demonstration.
